Jill 01:51
Don't turn your back on me, Jill I never wanted to die on that hill I'll give you the pieces of my life until You come home and back to me, Jill Don't turn your back on me, Jill Lord knows I'm tryin' and I've had my fill I can't understand it but I'm waiting here still So come home and back to me Jill

Runaround 03:17
If I get the runaround Won't be first time that I'm feelin down Call me when you get the time am I really on your mind Do you ever look into a crystal prism by yourself and see what is the answer now When I finally hit the ground Last time that I'll be in town If we get to being cool can we hang out after school and finish working on our letter to art university or will I get the runaround
4.
Lately 02:14
Lately all the best places are gone And I wish I could bring you along But sometimes I'm right, mostly I'm wrong Maybe that's why I've been so withdrawn I can't imagine the hard and cold world is weighing on heaven for angels cursed and finally returned Cause lately, my thoughts are on demons Wanderin' out there and causing you pain I know that you'll miss me, but I'm leavin' And I'm givin' the dry earth some rain

With You 02:46
Last night I couldn't see shit from the floor Or tell what anyone was thinkin' I couldn't even make my way to the door I only cared if I was drinkin' with you Just when I thought I couldn't take any more more was just you were wishin' I took ya out and then you evened the score I'm losing track of all the kissn' with you, all of you Last night ya told me that you wanna explore How was I supposed to take it Pick me up outside the liquor store How much longer 'till I make it with you Don't wanna think about the morning before we've had our chance to make or break it The way you're movin' makes you hard to ignore There ain't no way that I can fake it with you baby, you all of you I'm into you
6.
The Garden 03:13
Go to the garden, the garden of man Eat from the table Drink of the wine Look on the pleasures of earthly delights I cannot tell you the lesson to learn go, go, never return Go to the garden, the garden of time See how the sunrise goes back down to fire Weathers the keystone of mankind's desire I cannot tell you the lesson to learn go, go, never return
7.
Twice Supine 03:23
Hard coming down and the sound growin around you Shake, rattle and roll feel the ground caving beneath you Sun on your face take your place Head at the table Great silver chain Won't explain how you were able Long tall in sunglasses Twice Supine It's all the same Hightailin' tall grasses Overpasses transport train Who told ya so Growin old Never intrigued you Feel in your soul take control back on the road for you You played the game money and fame never a fortune Pray that you make a little mistake under a full moon Long tall in sunglasses Twice Supine It's all the same Hightailin' tall grasses Overpasses transport train

Clonbonny bells are sounding off today And all the children sing and laugh along, they're out to play The River Shannon bounds the west away It overtakes the bow it's like a rolling river stone out on the bay Clonbonny bells are sounding off again When we were girls we liked to paint our face On Sunday morning we would wake under sunny days And the friar cast a guilty gaze And then I knew that I would lose you to the only one that plays a game Clonbonny Bells sounding off today

I believe nothing is written in stone I can love everything skin to the bone You and me sitting right next to the fire Head on my shoulder I believe left hand holds the key All I have but nothing can set you free When yr gone everything feels like a fire Head under water I believe love is where you are if you want it bad enough I can see you out there counting stars oh tell me what do you believe I believe hope is pinned to the sky in the clouds, truth can come from a lie Bring it down, throw it right into the fire love is a power

about

These songs emerged from a desire to connect with the spirit of the steel guitar. In writing songs around that instrument, I was able to explore themes both traditional and outsider. There is a musical (and sometimes emotional) heaviness that tends to creep into my songs and I could not keep it wholly out. Hence my embrace of Esoteric Americana.
